[ It's been a day since he left Skyhold on his journey to the dilapidated Sacred Temple, and already, a gnawing worry niggles away to the point of distraction. Felix has sharply declined in the last few weeks since, which is a terrible time for Dorian to finally have his claws unhooked from Skyhold and sent on an errand.
He's due to return in the evening after next, but still, the hike through the mountains is a long one when it's on foot, over ice and rock. He finds a quiet moment, when they make camp, to take out his sending crystal. ]
Hello, Felix. I trust all is well, if impossibly dull without me.
Yes, and then some. It's a miserable place, and it's hard to keep the spirits up, though I am trying. I do wish I could improve the spirits of the people here. It's such a bleak place and they've seen so many grow ill. Hopefully the Inquisition can do enough for them.
Don't worry; I think the place has all the healers it needs. Plus they can speak to the ones still at Skyhold on these crystals if they need to discuss how to cure the plague.
[ If only the clan had had multiple healers when their plague hit. ]
I just hope it's soon. In the meantime, I've been gathering supplies and trying to avoid the corpses.
All right. There were reports of this creature running around in the mists, you see, and some thought it was a stag, and others thought it was a monster and it had people a little spooked. So a few of us were sent to track it and bring it down. I went with Sam, who is also a mage, Nahariel, who is Dalish but not of my clan, and Maria, who is a Templar.
Well, we tracked it to a statue and waited there for it to reappear. We waited so long there, but eventually it did show up, and you'll never guess what it was!
I'll just tell you because you'll never guess. It was a dead horse with a sword sticking out of its head! A spirit or wisp had possessed it. It took off, but not before Nahariel jumped on its back. It ran all over trying to shake her off and of course it ran through the water, which disturbed the corpses. So here are two mages and a Templar fighting corpses while a Dalish hunter tries to tame a dead horse!
[ Here she has to stop to giggle. ]
But eventually it did calm down and took a shine to Sam. We decided it had to be a good spirit in the horse and not a demon, and brought it to Scout Harding to use for the Inquisition.
Believe me, the company I'm entertaining currently isn't particularly marvellous. Two Templars and a Dalish. It's like the start of a joke Varric might tell.

Terribly dull, Dorian. I don't know how I'll handle the long hours while you are away.

Ah, it has a plague doesn't it? I'd hate to be taking the attention of healers if they are needed there.

Though if you want to hear something ridiculous, I have a story.
